Living in Keller, Texas

As the police chief likes to say, "It does not get much better than this!".  The city's growth is steered by progressive officials who work closely with the citizens, businesses and government creating a great place to live and do business.

Keller has grown up with a unique balance for keep small town family values and intelligent use of technology.  Technology was at the heart of how Keller got it's start.  The Texas and Pacific Railroad between Fort Worth and Texarkana was completed in April 1881. With the advent of rail service, new villages were established all along the line. Keller got it's start as a rail village.

Today, The City of Keller continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in Northeast Tarrant County. This has been reflected in the 2000 Census, which indicated a 99.8 percent population growth during the 1990s. Residential subdivision growth remains strong.

The primary commercial growth continues to be the retail component of the Keller Town Center and the southern area of the US Highway 377 corridor. The residential components of Town Center are under construction and will be available for occupancy soon.

The new 55,000-square-foot Keller Town Hall, the Town Plaza, and Town Center Lakes were completed at the end of 2001. The plan for the entire pedestrian-oriented Town Center is to be linked to the citywide hike and bike trail system, thus making the 270-acre Town Center accessible via the city's trail system. You can now hike along Bear Creek Park from 377 all the way to Davis.
